Bike Rental Subsidy

Bike for the Health of it! ~  Bike Rental Subsidy Program Starting May 2011

A partnership between Pictou County Active Transportation Committee and Pictou County Cycle with funding from NS Health and Wellness

PURPOSE: To encourage the residents of Pictou County to use the bicycle for physical activity and as a means of active transportation.

HOW: Pictou County Cycle currently rents bikes to the public for a fixed rate of $25.00/bike/day.  The Active Transportation Committee will subsidize the rental fee at a rate of $15.00/bike/day plus HST.  The renter will pay the difference of $10.00/bike/day plus HST. 

THE DESIRED RESULT: Residents who give it a try - will like it enough to buy and use their own bike. 

DETAILS:

• The rental fee will include bicycle, pump, water bottle cages, spare tube, tire levers, minor repair kit, and helmet.  
• Residents under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by an adult
• Choose from mountain, hybrid and road style bikes
• Bikes must be rented and returned during Pictou County Cycle's regular business hours
