Monday, May 30
Road Ride of the East River Valley

6 pm – Sobey’s Parking Lot, Stellarton

Enjoy a nice scenic ride of the valley! Riders doing the short loop (26.4 km) will enjoy an easy, relaxed pace. The longer route option (52 km) is for the intermediate riders who enjoy a little faster pace. Suitable for mountain or road bikes.

Tuesday, May 31
Beginner Mountain Bike Ride

6 pm – Trenton Park, Trenton

Want to go for a ride in the woods? Mountain biking in Trenton Park is the place to do it. Join the folks from Pictou County Cycle as they help new mountain bikers learn how to master the terrain on the fabulous trails in Trenton Park.

Wednesday, June 1
Family Bike Ride (mixed road and trail ride)

6 pm – New Glasgow Marina

Join the Trail’r Park Girls and the New Glasgow Police Department as they lead us through the trails and roadways of New Glasgow. Experience the thrill of stopping traffic on East River Road as we bike behind a police cruiser! No one gets left behind, so bring the whole family along. Full distance 9 km with an option to turn off at 4 km. Ice cream for all participants at the end of the ride.

Thursday, June 2
Road Ride of Greenhill, Durham, Scotsburn

6 pm – Cowan Street Irving, Westville

Want to find out about the Heartland Tour? Here’s your chance. Join the local Heartland Tour organizers for a relaxed-pace 23 km ride through Greenhill, Durham and Scotsburn. Kathy, Gordon, and Pat will tell you all about the Tour taking place in July as you ride through some of Pictou County’s beautiful rolling hills. Bring some pocket change for ice cream at the DQ at ride’s end.

Friday, June 3
Road Ride of the Pictou/Braeshore Route

6 pm – RCMP Parking Lot, Pictou

If you’re not at the Relay for Life, why not come out for a easy, short (20 km) ride leaving Pictou, going around Braeshore and ending up in Pictou again. Suitable for mountain bikes and road bikes.

Saturday, June 4
Family Bike Ride and BBQ on the Jitney (trail ride)

10 am and 12 noon – Scotsburn Recreation Centre

Why not celebrate International Trails Day by biking on the Jitney portion of the Trans Canada Trail. A longer ride (50 km) will be leaving at 10 am, with a shorter (15 km), easier ride leaving at noon. All the riders will return to the Scotsburn Rec Centre for a BBQ beginning at 2 pm. Suitable for mountain bikes.

Rides will be cancelled if it is pouring rain. If it is raining lightly, misty, or overcast, rides will go as scheduled.
