It’s a well-known Canadian organization that promotes the importance of daily physical activity for all Canadians with national media campaigns and catchy slogans.Their most recent message “Bring Back Play” speaks to the recent report that indicates 63% of Canadian children are inactive afterschool and on weekends. Hard to imagine? There are numerous reasons to explain how we got to this point; both parents working outside the home, longer commutes to school, more families living in urban areas, increase in structured recreation and sport activities, and our tendency to be drawn to screens for entertainment/relaxation, and it goes on.
