Active Pictou County is excited to host a Learn to Sledge Clinic on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am as part of the Pictou County Wellness Centre Grand Opening weekend. The interactive session is being coordinated in partnership with the Human Kinetics Department, St FX and on-ice leadership will be provided by the Durand family from Halifax.

For many students living in Pictou County, getting to school involves a ride on a large orange bus. Most think nothing of it, that's the way it is.....or can it be different?

October is International Walk to School month and it's the perfect time to think about how are children get to and from school. The news is filled with reports on childhood obesity, nature deficit disorder and too much screen time. And as a parent, it sometimes seems like we're fighting a losing battle. But making time to walk (or bike) to school is a step in the right direction.
